What can give to my cat who is constipated?

I rescue an old cat and it seems because he eat more than before he is always constipated. What can I give him to resolve that problem?

Canned Pumpkin

One of my kitties had this problem at one time and the homeopathic vet prescribed canned Pumpkin ~ I was able to find organic to my delight ~ at first he would not touch it However i placed a bit in little dishes around the room and he began to lick a bit ~ to evolve to like it ~ I placed bitty treats that he liked on the top which helped ~ good luck ~~~~
