A 2 year old female limps on right front leg. Leg seems jointed about one inch above the wrist. She holds the foot off the ground when seated but swats prey with the right foot. Does not seem impeded when playing with her siblings and runs at full tilt. Caught her in a trap and had her fixed but haven't been able to catch her since. Should I be real worried?
RESPONSE:
Since she is running at full tilt and showing no distress, she may have a defect that she was born with that she has adapted well to. If she shows signs of pain then I would seek professional help at the vet's to further investigate the causes.
However, it sounds like she was a stray you trapped and care for now, and it is not uncommon for feral communities to have small defects due to lack of food and care when they are very young.
So I suggest you watch her closely for any signs of distress, if none, I wouldn't be worried. But if she exhibits discomfort then please get her to a vet. Wish I could help you more. Best of luck with your kitty.
