rib cage

i have a new kitten and her rib cage is flat not in a ovel shape and she it is hard for her to breath she was born this way. how can i help her.

I hadn’t heard of this condition in kittens before your question arrived. I found a very good description at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat-chested_kitten_syndrome

I recommend you especially read the Survival and long-term prognosis section. Apparently if your kitten is over 3 weeks old, its prognosis is good. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to give you any information from personal experiences with my cats, however, I’m happy for them that they don’t have to deal with it.

I hope you are able to help your little kitty to breathe better and I think this article at Wikipedia does a good job of explaining what this condition is and how to deal with it. I learned quite a bit on a topic that I’d never heard of.
