older cat vomits brown coffee colored liquid and she is a hair ball cat
RESPONSE:
The coffee colored liquid that you mention is an indication of bleeding somewhere between the mouth and the upper small bowel. A common cause is that the cat has swallowed something that is causing the condition but there can be other reasons.
Hair balls don't typically cause bleeding although inflammation can occur. Any bleeding that is causing this dark liquid (partially digested blood)should be seen by a vet.
Because older cats are more susceptible to complications with health issues, I certainly recommend a visit to your veterinarian.
Best of luck to you both.
