Hello,
My cat is 4 years old, I just discovered a new black spot on the roof of his mouth. It wasn’t there a few months ago. Should I be concerned? I’m not sure how pigmentations work and if it can just appear like that? I’m praying it’s not cancer considering it’s a new thing. His teeth have also been horrible! Even after a cleaning he smells. 🥺
RESPONSE:
Its not unusual for cats to get changes in color on the roof of the mouth. But bad breath can be an indication of some other physical internal problem.
Check that he continues to eat normally, eliminates normally, plays normally, etc. If there are changes, then a visit to the vet would be a wise move.
