my baby kitten sounds like shes having a very hard time breathing

My kitten sounds like its hard for her to breath. I feel sorry for her, vet too expensive. Is their any way I can help her?

RESPONSE:

Your cat may have an upper respiratory infection that will require antibiotics. Since you can't go to the vet, I suggest you call your local humane society and see if they have a program or a contact number where you can get assistance.

Cats are good at fighting off some minor forms of infections so it may resolve itself in a week or so, but there is no way to know if this is a more serious ailment without a professional seeing your cat.
