In response to your response, I understand that I must move the litter box away from where the construction is! As you said, that is an obvious move to make! I just wanted to know if there is a good way to go about it. Should I move it a little at a time to ease the cat to the new place? (Construction won't begin for several weeks,) or should I just bam put it somewhere new? Any tips? I do, by the way like your info on cats and construction. Very helpful.
RESPONSE:
Sorry if my response to move the litter box came across as insulting. That was certainly was not my intent.
In answer to your question, yes, it is a good idea to move the box a little at a time so your cat can adjust more readily. I was remiss in not mentioning that. If you want to move the litter box back to its original location after the construction is completed you can simply reverse the process.
Also, you might consider praising your cat and giving it a treat when it uses the box in it's new location (or the stages in getting to the new location).
I hope your construction and the safety of your cat are successful.
