Itchy Bloody Bald spots on neck and shoulders - Sarah and Molly (Isle of Man)

by sarah watterson
(Isle of Man)

I wanted to say thank you very much for your very detailed kind response to Molly's condition (see above). Unfortunately I got it after I had had a lot of tests and biopsies done. It transpired that Molly has a mould and fish allergy.

The vet gave her a hormone called Ovarid in tablet form. Molly has about a fifth of a tablet every other day when she has a flare up which has worked wonders!!!

Molly had been fine for example for 5 months until i gave her some whiskers treats not realising they contained fish oil.
Molly still has James wellbeloved and Applepaws pure chicken and is fine on that diet.

For other cat owners with a similar problem, try ovarid.

Thank you for your helpful advice.

I now also have a Manx cat called Oreo, also a
rescue cat.

RESPONSE:

Sarah, I'm thrilled that your cat Molly is now well. Our beloved felines sure give us challenges at times. Congratulations on rescuing another needy critter. Best to all of you!
