eats more than ever, chews on side, weight loss and is sick quite often.Vet checked for diabetes, thyroid, parasites and said if saw blood results without seeing cat would think healthy 10 year old not poorly 18.Also seems spacey at times and other tmes acts just as before. Back legs also getting a little weak. Any ideas?
RESPONSE:
It sounds like your vet has covered most possibilities that I can think of, however, if I understand correctly your cat is 18 years old. I'm convinced that some cats get a feline version of Alzheimers when they get older because of my experience with our 21 year old (that has passed). The last year she did all sorts of bizarre things and it was the only conclusion that we could arrive at.
Sorry I couldn't help you.
