My wife and myself look after 5 feral cats. 3 seem really friendly and they all have circular notches removed from their right ears.
Are we right in thinking they have been spayed or neutered.

RESPONSE:
I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you because each country is different. However, in the USA, feral cats that have been neutered and returned to their habitat do have their ears notched.
I suspect that you are correct but you would have to ask the animal control department to get a correct answer.
When I lived in Spain for a couple of years, many years go, I remember feeding feral cats at a spot where they gathered. So, its possible that over time they have tried to control the feral population without euthanizing...which is the better avenue in my opinion.
Sorry that I don't have a concrete answer for you. And, thank you for caring for feral cats. They need all the help they can get.
