Cat Agressive After being Gone for 1 month

by Kim Kessel
(Daytona Beach, FL, USA)

My male 6-toed cat is back home safe but is being aggressive to his brother cat. He is not neutered. Is this common for a cat who has been out in the wild for 1 month. Can I cure his agresiveness if I neuter him?

RESPONSE:

It has been my experience with my male cats that once they are neutered they simmer down and are far less aggressive. They can still have a feisty personality but 90 percent of the time are more affectionate and playful.

Any cat that has been away for more than a few days returns to a partly feral state as it survives away from human protection. So this is not unusual. But you will find the desire to stray lessens dramatically once they are neutered.
