My six year old neutered male cat has developed a black ring around his nose. He has lost a lot of weight, and has become lethargic. There has also been issuse of his urnating on beds where he has been laying. Can you give me any answers on what could be wrong?
RESPONSE:
You didn't mention if your cat was indoors only or if he's allowed outside. Nasal Dermatoses can be caused by mites, fungus, immune system disorders...to name just a few.
Weight loss and lethargy are signals that your cat needs help. I suggest you get your cat to your local vet and have this looked at. There are no simple answers when there are so many possibilities involved.
The urinating where he sleeps doesn't sound behavioral but simply feeling too sick to get up sometimes.
Wish I could have helped you more but this needs to be looked at in person and a few tests done to determine the cause and treatment.
