my cat made urine in the cat litter but the feces on the floor. whats happening or what i can do
RESPONSE:
There are a number of reasons that could cause your cat to have a peculiar aversion to defecating in the litter box. Typically, the issue is with urinating outside the litter box but the same possibilities exist in either case.
Assuming it is not a medical problem, your cat could dislike the feel of the litter on its feet. Urinating is relatively a quick jump into the box and a quick jump out of the litter box, while defecating can mean standing with the litter on their paw pads for a longer duration. It could also be an issue with where the litter box is located, etc.
Please read my page on Cat Litter Boxes and see if there are any similar scenarios in your home, it might give you some ideas of what to look for. If that doesn't help, then perhaps our readers will leave comments that might shed a little light on your problem. Fortunately, I haven't had this problem with my current 6 cats or other cats I've had before so I'm at a bit of a loss to give you a definitive answer.
Read the litter box page and hopefully an idea on handling your problem might surface. I wish you luck in resolving this.
